Ideation

Shape Borrowing
Shape borrowing is a technique whereby a person uses the shape of an everyday object as an inspiration for designing a whole new creation. Shape borrowing can also be used when the designer does not know what shape his/her creation should be like. He/She might use objects in his/her everyday life to design the creation. For example, a person might design a table lamp with an elephant trunk as its stand.

S.C.A.M.P.E.R
SCAMPER is a technique whereby people or designers use to modify and refine the functions or design of the creation. It also can be used to eliminate certain unwanted functions or parts of the creation.

Here is what SCAMPER stands for:
S - Substitute
C - Combine
A - Adapt
M - Modify
P - Put to other purposes
E - Eliminate
R - Reverse/Rearrange

SCAMPER can also be used to decide which design is best for production. For example, SCAMPER is used to refine each creation and design. And at the end of it all, the best creation is chosen based on the good things about it found out by SCAMPER technique.

  1. You're almost there! Keep up with the good work of telling the reader what SCAMPER is; however, elaborate on each and show examples
